Screenshot of progress on Codecademy:
What I’ve Learned From these courses:
I’ve learned the confidence to understand how websites work and how to dabble in it if I ever so choose. I learned how to make a website change any aspect I want from color to margin size, add photos, and links. I feel like a hacker now lol. I thought the lessons were descriptive when providing information on how to follow through with the lesson, provided hints if one was stuck, easy to understand difficult material; Being a hands-on learner this was the best way for me to learn coding. This was quite fun despite a big problem I had which I’ll get to in a second. It was fun to learn and know how to do, and I thought the lessons were incredibly put together well. I had only one problem with this site and I’ve had it when I was learning to code using Sparki in Underwater robotics as well. The coding font is hard for me to read with my dyslexia many times I would be stuck on a question for 10-15 minutes before I realized that the N was an M. This was extremely discouraging for me and would often leave me feeling confused and aggravated before I figured out what was wrong. Other than this the site and course were okay and I learned what I needed to.
